Cubs Stand In Giants Way!

The San Francisco Giants are running in to some bad luck.  With only a half game lead in the NL West, the Giants will have to go through Chicago first.  The Cubs are coming off an 8-1 road trip and have won six in a row.

Big Z will be on the mound for the Cubs.  A revitalized Carlos Zambrano has been one of the hottest pitchers since August 14th.  In his last 7 starts, Big Z has gone 6-0 with a 1.37 era and will be, undoubtedly, pumped up for the playoff-contending Giants.

The Cubs’ bullpen has been equally effective.  During the 9 game road trip, the relievers had a 1.83 era.  The pitching staff, as a whole, combined for a 1.46 era during that stretch.

The Cubs look to be killer of Giants as they open their final homestand of the season.  Good luck, San Francisco, you’re gonna need it!  Go, Cubs, Go!
