Starlin Castro is back in the lineup after a two game timeout from Manager, Mike Quade. We’ll see if the rest period will rejuvenate Starlin as the Cubs try to take the series with Houston. Since Quade has taken over, the Cubs seem more relaxed as they head down the stretch.
Mike Quade has a lot of experience with the younger players and it should be interesting to watch how he handles them the rest of the way since they should see quite a bit of playing time as the season winds down. It should also be worth noting that 4 of the 5 guys called up have spent time with the Cubs but were sent back down for further development. We’ll see if they have what it takes to stay in the majors. How they respond in the month of September will largely determine if a roster spot awaits them on opening day next season.
